GNC Acai Berry

The acai berry products from GNC often get mixed reviews. Personally, I trust GNC. I believe that GNC is such a well-known and international brand, that they would not risk their name for anything substandard. We all know that acai berry is today's hottest superfood or superfruit.

GNC has its own house brand of berry products. It offers the GNC Acai Berry Antioxidant Formula, which is a juice drink that claims that one serving provides the antioxidant capacity equal to 8 standard servings of fruit or 3,800 ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity). This antioxidant measuring standard measures the capacity of a product to destroy cell-damaging free radicals.

The GNC Acai Berry Antioxidant Formula is really potent in antioxidant power not only because of its berry content, but because it has other fruit extratcs as well. Such fruits such as lycium, bilberry, blueberry, elderberry, grape skin and pomegranate are rich in antioxidants as well. Apart from the GNC Antioxidant Formula juice, GNC also carries Pills, as well as other brands of juices, pills, shakes and powders.

As with all products, there are negative reviews about the GNC Acai Berry as well. Some say that the GNC products contain additives and chemicals that negate the benefits of the berry on our bodies. They say that GNC puts all sorts of artificial ingredients to their products so that they can extend the shelf life of their supplements.

What people do not seem to understand is that there are no fresh acai berry products outside of Brazil at all! These berries are extremely perishable and must be consumed right away upon picking them from the trees. That is why these berries must be processed and preserved shortly after they are harvested. So seeing chemical, additives and preservatives listed amongst the ingredients of berry products is really normal. It is up to you to choose the right supplement for you, but remember to choose the one that offers you with the most acai berry requirements in the smallest servings. It is always best to get a free sample if possible.
